Today NVIDIA has released a new software update for the portable game machines Shield with many major new features . First off , the OS version is upgraded to Android 4.3 promises higher performance . GameStream
game help feature from PC to TV is no longer tied Shield mac Beta ,
quality and stability during image transmission is also enhanced . More interesting , NVIDIA provides a software called Gamepad Mapper to help his equipment compatible with more Android games .
Gamepad
Mapper will allow us to assign the function of the virtual buttons on
the touch screen on the hard buttons on the Shield , then save them into
separate profiles for each game . Best
of all , you will not have to perform all tasks assigned to the button
by Gamepad Mapper support game players share the profile that you
created , and if you intend to play Shield game that is available
on-line profile , the machine will download it for free . Of
course the game has support for the activities you will handle better
than the button assignments , but nonetheless , this is still a very
welcome addition .
Previously
introduced by NVIDIA Console Mode , Mode Shield helped turn into a real
console , and now it has appeared in today's update . In the past when we used to connect HDMI cable to the TV Shield , the image output resolution is only 720p . As for Console Mode , Shield itself off its own screen , restart the system and produce a TV 1080p image . Then , Shield can be controlled by wireless gaming handle , similar to PlayStation or Xbox .
Console Mode also supports wireless transmission from a computer game to Shield but is limited to 720p resolution @ 60fps . In the future it will increase the resolution to 1080p @ 60fps , but you will have to buy a USB adapater - Ethernet
An interesting new feature in this update is that NVIDIA has allowed users to install the entire game on the microSD card . Previously Shield users to install games to internal memory with a capacity of just 16GB . Of
course this is still limited : Shield only supports up to 32GB microSD
card , and some games will not be installed on the card if the
programmers / developers of the game are not allowed .
